Coach Steve Gale Steve has been a coach with the Matadors for 3 seasons. During his time with the team the Matadors are 47-25 and have been Nationally Ranked each season. Prior to coaching at Northridge, Steve was a coach with the West Valley Wolves, LA Jr. Kings and Long Beach Jr. Ice Dogs. He has 3 SCAHA Championships, 2 CAHA Championships, been to the Pacific District Regionals 5 times and has taken 3 different teams to the USA Hockey National championships at the Pee Wee, Bantam and Midget Tier II levels. He has a Master Level Coaching Certification from USA Hockey. During his playing career, he was on the first team from Southern California to play in a USA hockey National Championship in 1971. After high school he played on the Orange Coast Juniors and then moved on to play Semi-Pro for the California Eagles of the old PSHL. He has two sons, JP and Chris and has been happily married to his wife Joyce for 27 years.
